This globally recognized diving license is the best way to start your lifelong adventure as a diver. Personalized training is combined with sessions in the water to ensure you have the skills and experience needed to become truly comfortable underwater. You too deserve an SSI Open Water Diver diving license! We are happy to take you with you to get your diving license and to be able to dive up to 18 meters deep, anywhere in the world!

The training consists of several parts: theory, pool lessons and outdoor diving.

Theory

After registering for this course, you can work on your phone/laptop the same day to study the theory. You can do this at your own pace and through the interim practice questions you test whether you are on the right track. When you have arrived on Bonaire, we will briefly go through the theory again at our diving school and we will complete it with a theory exam.

Pool lessons

It’s about to start! Your first breath underwater. Under the guidance of your instructor, you will do the exercises you have seen in theory in the shallow part of the Caribbean Ocean. You can finally get started yourself! Then you float through the water and we continue to the deeper part of the ocean. At the end of these lessons you will be able to do the exercises independently and you can dive safely and especially with a lot of fun.

During your training you have one permanent instructor and you will dive with a maximum of 3 other students.

Open water

After completing the theory and the pool lessons, you will make 4 more dives together with your instructor. You will no longer learn new exercises in the open water, but will mainly make meters to feel safe and comfortable in the water.

After four dives you will receive your diving license from us. You are officially an SSI Open Water Diver!

You can now dive anywhere in the world, up to 18 meters deep with your buddy. You can dive the rest of your holiday in Divers Paradise together with your buddy. Or you can join one of our guide dives.

This diving license is the most important license to get, but you can continue! Do you want to know more about marine life, night dives, navigating or making a deep dive. There is a huge choice of further education, all of which you can follow with us. Consider the SSI Advanced Adventurer or SSI Specialty Diver program.
